ANDIt’s been just over two months since Rockstar finally showed us the first official images of GTA 6, the highly anticipated new installment in one of the most popular, successful and controversial sagas in video game history. And with this first preview, in addition to leaving us speechless about the huge development of its graphics section with regard to GTA V, Rockstar also gave us the first approximation of its plans for the launch: 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Series X|S. Those of us waiting for it on PC will have to wait about a year.

Actually, Before this official announcement, Rockstar already gave us some hints about the launch plans for GTA 6, though it wasn’t done via a trailer, cryptic tweep, press release, or anything like that. No, the “confirmation” that the game will see the light of day no later than March 2025 came from the company’s earnings presentation, in which it announced revenue estimates for its fiscal year 2025 (between April 2024 and March 2025, both inclusive), pointing to their a large growth which could only be due to the launch of the game.

With the prospect of GTA 6 debuting during the first third of 2025, many have already started warming up their engines, and we could even see how some “smarties” have already published it, in the pre-sale, in the code stores. And as I said at the time, buying it in advance and from an unofficial seller at an unusually high price and without any warranty was the ultimate stupidity. Well, whether you’ve purchased it or not, if you’re waiting for it, I’m afraid I have some bad news.

As I say, the presentation of the results half a year ago pointed to March 2025 at the latest. However, as we can read in VGC, Rockstar has revised downwards its revenue forecast for fiscal year 2025. And what does it want? ? Well, what you think GTA 6 won’t hit the market until April 2025and it could actually be pushed until Christmas (well, pre-Christmas, so we don’t miss the sales in those dates) of 2025. And that, of course, regardless of the fact that there may be more delays.

However, history has taught us that it’s not a good idea to rush when it comes to releasing a blockbuster (is there already a “four-A” category?), although at least in this case we have the peace of mind that GTA 6 will not be cross-generational. Rockstar should take all the time they need to finish this properlyand even better if you can do it without crunch in the middle.
