There is no web browser with a greater global presence than Google Chrome. It single-handedly managed to defeat giants such as Netscape and even Internet Explorer.; Microsoft Edge, a successor to Chrome that uses its own engine, is a sort of hybrid between both companies. And it works really well, it has become my default browser. Also on mobile.

I like many features of the Edge, both in terms of design and operation. Comes integrated cookies and ad blocking tools The presence of ChatGPT Copilot among the navigation buttons is also an advantage. However, in the end, there is one detail that made me choose Edge: Microsoft Rewards awards. Having the option to earn more daily points by using the browser daily is an advantage for me.

Extra daily points that never hurt

I usually remember to get all the Microsoft points every day on both the computer and the mobile browser. It’s not something that takes up a lot of my time, no more than ten or fifteen minutes a day: I changed Google search to Bing to make it even more cost-effective. Not that I’m obsessive, because I’ve forgotten and lost my streak more than once, but I usually keep the Rewards page open at all times so it loads as soon as I open Edge.

Depending on the level (one or two) Microsoft gives more or less daily points. Also available for both mobile and desktop browsers They offer a number of extra points that are added to the total day by day. There are also special campaigns with which you can expand the range of points: it is worth keeping an eye on the account.

So what is this for? The truth is that no one will get rich with Microsoft Edge points, but it helps to get the services for free. In my case I use this to get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Subscription is usually free every month (or quarter) with all daily Rewards.. There’s also another way to increase rewards in the subscription: Xbox Ambassador challenges. It is a parallel points program where you can also get Game Pass Ultimate.

OK, Rewards was the hook that got me into Microsoft Edge, then I stayed there because of how well the browser runs on my Androids (and has replaced both Google Chrome and Brave on my PC). Consumption is lower, I generally notice that Edge is more agileExchanging files between mobile and PC using Drop sounds perfect to me, I usually enable strict anti-tracking to avoid cookies as much as possible, and Copilot is at my fingertips if I need to chat via ChatGPT. I have my pros and cons about the button because the truth is it has a lot of presence but I’ve gotten used to it. Only that.

Quitting Google Chrome is easier than it seems

The fact that it comes by default on Android means that it remains the first option even though the system offers different alternatives. And these are worth trying; There is a life far beyond Chrome. Whether you use rewards or not, Microsoft Edge is a good starting point.
