Lenovo will present a transparent laptop at MWC 2024, which will be held in Barcelona in a few weeks. It appears to be a proof of concept the next generation of hybridswhich, like the current folding and dual-display ones, will mark the point of innovation in the segment that sells the most pieces of the large PC group.

The World Mobile Congress is just around the corner and, like every year, it will offer us interesting news. We must realize that this trade fair is not only about mobile phones, but also about mobility. And therein lies the model whose leak is causing a sensation. The next thing will be the rating What a transparent laptop does or doesn’t provide in terms of practicalitysomething we discovered with dual screens/flexible screens.

Screen technologies have advanced considerably, but require expensive manufacturing processes. Now that the production of transparent panels is somewhat easier and cheaper, the market is starting to grow. LG introduced transparent OLED screens at CES, and Samsung showed them earlier.

The Lenovo PC is a 2-in-1 hybrid, similar in design to the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid, another innovative concept from Lenovo, as it can function as both a Windows laptop and an Android tablet. The display has a frameless design and is completely transparent.

The base also appears transparent, according to the picture. It has an opaque frame where the ports will be located. Although not mentioned in the leak, its hardware base will be Intel’s Meteor Lake, and specifically the low-power 15-watt ‘U’ series Core Ultra processors, which don’t offer the performance of the ‘H’ series, but are more energy efficient. They are complemented by up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.

It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and we expect it to be updated to the latest connectivity standards, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, like the latest Yoga that Lenovo unveiled at CES. Do you need a transparent laptop? Maybe not, but we will see an innovative concept at WC that is always appreciated for being different.
