Phone maker Nothing steps up its lighting game! The company, known for its transparent back design and eye-catching LEDs, introduces its signature Glyph interface with a brand new developer kit. This means software developers and companies can now create and synchronize their own LED lighting models that will integrate directly with their applications.

The kit is conveniently available on GitHub and includes all the necessary tools and instructions for developers to use the LED zones on the Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2).

Developers can program 12 separate zones for the phone (1). The phone (2) increases personalization possibilities with 33 programmable LED zones. Below is an image of how Nothing indexes the LED zones on both the phone (1) and the phone (2).

Nothing’s Glyph Developer Kit allows developers to take full advantage of these fantastic LED bulbs. The collection includes a GlyphFrame that identifies the glyph in use, and several methods for managing the glyph interface, such as GlyphFrame.Builder and GlyphManager. Developers can use GlyphManager.Callback to confirm successful connections.

Using Glyph Kit, developers can create apps with notifications that use unique patterns, or perhaps games that respond to user actions. This could lead to a more immersive and enjoyable experience for Nothing phone users.

The release of the Glyph Developer Kit precedes the release of the long-awaited Nothing Phone (2a). The new device is also likely to use Glyph Interface, and the company will likely add support for it in the Kit after launch. Developers interested in the toolkit can start working with it and sign up for API key notifications as soon as they become available.
