As you might imagine, this CPU replaces the Intel Core i9-13900KS and takes the same approach as that one.

The Intel Core i9-14900KS will have a configuration of 8 high-performance Raptor Cove cores and 16 high-efficiency Gracemont cores, which adds up to 24 cores but can work with 32 threads thanks to the HyperThreading technology present in its high-performance cores. The cache configuration is also unchanged from the Intel Core i9-14900K, which means it will have 32 MB L2 and 36 MB L2.

Looking at the operating frequencies, we see that its high-performance cores will work at a base speed of 3.2 GHz, but thanks to the turbo mode They will be able to scale up to 6.2 GHz. It is important to be clear from the start that this frequency will only be possible when the CPU is working with a maximum of one or two active threads. The difference with the Intel Core i9-14900K is thanks to the 200 MHz turbo mode, as it peaks at 6 GHz.

This increase in working speed thanks to the turbo mode will not be free. The base TDP (PL1) of the Intel Core i9-14900KS has been increased to 150 watts, and from what I was able to see in the OCCT database, it registers Average 330 watts in PL2 modeand can achieve maximum peak consumption 410 watts. These are very high consumption figures which obviously have an effect on operating temperatures and this chip reached 101 degrees C.

With workloads that use all of its cores The maximum frequency values ​​that the P cores can sustain is 5.9 GHz. This value was consistent with what I recorded for the Intel Core i9-14900K in CPU 3DMark using an AI optimization applied to the processor that applies a 100 MHz overclock. Without said optimization, the average frequency would be 5.8 GHz.

Intel Core i9-14900KS should do this slight increase in frequencies the most powerful general consumer processor which exists, but the consumption and temperature costs are high and it means that we will have to accompany this CPU with a very powerful power supply and a high-performance cooling system. We have no details on its exact release date or its possible retail price.
