During the week, the Ukrainian IT army attacked more than 800 Russian resources – banks, exchanges and insurance services.
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reports on Telegram.
“This week, the IT army managed to set a record for the number of Russian online services hacked! More than 800 Russian online resources were attacked from May 23 to 29,” the statement said.
In particular, customers of many Russian banks could not use online banking and perform the desired financial transactions from a smartphone. It was not possible to obtain microcredit due to the attacks.
In order to withstand the onslaught of cyberattacks and continue to operate, Russian exchanges had to cut off access abroad. After the changes, we had to hide behind a geoblock from DDoS attacks of the RuStore app store that launched last week. The Ministry of Finance recalled that this is the Russian analogue of Google Play.
The attacks put online insurance services. The Russians failed to insure themselves.
Traditionally, over the weekend it was more difficult for Russians to use Kremlin propaganda through cyberattacks on regional media and television sites.
“We continue to resist Russian aggression. Join the social networks of the Ministry of Justice to keep up to date with the fight against the enemy on the digital front,” the ministry said.
As Ukrinform reported, since February 24, six Russian hacker groups have carried out more than 430 cyberattacks on Ukrainian sites.
