Finland’s Nokia has introduced an AI-powered MX Workmate tool that will assist workers in production, including alerting them to equipment malfunctions.
This was reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reported.
MX Workmate will extend Nokia’s technologies based on generative large-scale artificial intelligence language models (LLM) used by industrial customers.
The tool will also be able to create human-like text. These can be early warnings about equipment malfunctions and repair recommendations, solutions to improve the quality and speed of production, or information about accidents.
Nokia already provides 4G and 5G technologies that enable internal communications or help industrial companies connect to data from machine sensors. Now an assistant has appeared to help the employee understand all this data.
Nokia implemented this tool because businesses were facing a shortage of skilled workers, said Stefan Doibl, Nokia’s head of enterprise solutions marketing.
He said that some issues, including combating artificial intelligence “hallucinations”, are still in the research phase, and that some measures will be taken in the first stage, such as verification of the accuracy of the artificial intelligence’s guidance by a human.
“It will probably be a year, a year and a half before we see the first real application,” Doble said.
As reported by Ukrinform, Nokia announced the launch of the Network As Code platform. It offers developers simplified network functionality in the form of software code that can be easily integrated into applications.
