From where?

Today open source is used by many of the developers of the most successful applications from around the world. Ultimately it helps develop and scale the product,
– The Ministry writes.

Such a step will allow developers from all corners of the world to analyze the features of the architecture of the Ukrainian application and understand its operating principles. They will be able to review technical documentation and develop their own new services based on this.

This will greatly simplify and speed up the process of exporting Diya to other countries. The developers are confident that this will show their partners that Ukraine continues to develop despite the war and is able to share its own digital products.

Another positive aspect of open code is that the IT community can participate in code analysis and suggest changes or improvements that will be further evaluated by the Action engineering team.

What are the consequences?

Users should not be afraid of such a step. In order to use open source code, a test environment is created with test users within its own boundaries. At the same time, outsiders do not have access to the records as they are essentially in a limited “sandbox”, so Ukrainians’ data will remain completely safe.

Today, most of the software is based on open source. For example, this is the Android operating system. The openness of the code allows anyone to flexibly create their own applications and for smartphone manufacturers to offer their own skins; This means a new design, unique functions and more for the end user.
