Despite the fact that the release of the new generation of consoles took place a year and a half ago, for most gamers they still have the status of a miracle. In this regard, a logical question arises: how long does Sony plan to release games on the PlayStation 4? You don’t have to worry, there is time.

Sony’s new business report reveals the company’s plans to bring games to the PS4. According to her, the outdated console will receive new releases until 2026.

The company predicts that by fiscal year 2025 (April 2025 – March 2026), up to 50% of releases will be released on PS5, another 30% on PC, and about 20% on smartphones. And in this diagram, there was no place for the PlayStation 4, which allows us to draw conclusions about the timing of its failure. Meanwhile, in fiscal year 2022 (until March 2023), 40% of Sony’s releases will be on PS4/PS5 – this will be a full crossgen year. And the share of PC will be 20%.

Also, the head of PlayStation Jim Ryan, as part of the same report, stated that the demand for PS5 far exceeds the demand for PS4 over the same period. However, there is a supply problem. Sony plans to make up for this supply-demand gap in 2023, and by 2024, the PlayStation 5 should hit more gaming homes than its predecessor.
