It was noted that the launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was carried out from the spaceport in Florida at 00.30 Kiev time.
The U.S. Space Force has said only six satellites will be sent into orbit as part of the USSF-124 mission; two of these are for the US Missile Defense Agency and four are for the US Space Agency.
At the same time, information about the orbital missions of the satellites was not disclosed.
“With each national security launch, we continue to strengthen America’s capabilities and deterrence against evolving threats, adding stability to a very dynamic world. That’s what we do in the Space Force, and we take it seriously,” said Col. Jim Horne, Space Systems Command’s senior logistics officer.
The first stage of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle returned to Earth for a vertical descent at sunny Cape Canaveral approximately eight minutes after liftoff.
As Ukrinform reported, SpaceX sent the Odysseus landing module, built by private American company Intuitive Machines, to the moon on Thursday, February 15.
