The research by scientists from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) shed light on the initial form of planets and came as a surprise to the authors. It turned out that they were formed as flattened objects, and not spherical, as was initially believed.

The results of the study, published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysical Letters, have become a strong argument for supporters of the flat Earth theory. Although they touch on the first stages of the formation of planets, they do not describe their current state.

Researchers now accept that protoplanets (early in history) had a flattened shape. Demonstrated by computer modeling of the formation process of cosmic bodies. Astrophysicists also admit they were impressed by the discovery. The study highlights two key theories of planet formation. This is core accretion, which is the gradual accumulation of cosmic dust as larger objects form.

The second is the disk instability theory, which proposes that planetary bodies form very quickly due to the disintegration of rotating protostellar disks.
