Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) this Saturday launched its most “unruly” rocket, nicknamed for its high failure rate, on a mission that will help improve weather observations from space.

“The car was placed successfully launched the satellite into orbit planned geosynchronous movement,” ISRO noted in a post on X.

Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV), known as “naughty boy” for failing in six of the 15 missions he completedis loading on board INSAT-3DS, a “meteorological disaster warning satellite,” the Indian Space Agency said in a statement.

The satellite will be deployed in Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) to enhance meteorological services to the country along with other operational satellites. INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR.

INSAT-3DS is designed for “improve meteorological observations and land and ocean surface monitoring for weather forecasting and disaster warning,” the Indian Space Agency added.

This latest Indian mission comes as part of a series of aspirations the Asian country has set for itself in its ambitious race to increase its presence in space. the latest successes of its space program.

The country has set a target for 2023 operation of its first space station and is working on a formula to reduce the cost of the first mission to Venus.

The Asian country’s new space aspirations follow the successful launch and landing of the unmanned space mission Chandrayaan-3, which took the explorer near the moon’s south pole, a never-before explored side of the Earth’s satellite.

After this important milestone that made India fourth country to land on the moon monitored on the lunar surface, something so far achieved only by China, the United States, Japan and the former Soviet Union, the country launched its first solar exploration mission, Aditya-L1 (Sun in Sanskrit).
