Education has evolved to adapt to the needs of today’s society. And in this modification, technology entered through the front door. Digital education is already a reality in Spain, but to what extent? Was it integrated correctly?

In order to put into context and know where digital education is, we prepared the document «Digital education: Where are we and where are we going? Technologies, use cases and best practices.

In this special value Let’s repeat what technologies that are revolutionizing the way knowledge is transmitted in and out of classrooms, what solutions are most appropriate and how we can improve today’s learning for a better tomorrow.

Hand in hand with LG Business Solutions, we visit classrooms and educational centers explore areas where technology is an advantage. A guide to help you understand what areas can be digitized and how this can benefit more inclusive, motivating and authentic learning.

We are talking about a sector that welcomes more than 8.3 million students, 770,000 teachers and the rest of non-teaching staff in Spain. An environment with more than 34,000 education and training centers, which in many cases are still at the dawn of digitization. In fact, only 68% have a virtual learning platform, in addition to other digital shortcomings.

Digital education: why it matters

Digital education can be defined as a strategy to adapt training to the needs of today’s information society. To achieve this, we can use tools and technologies that develop digital skills.

A concept behind which many challenges lie. The first is to build a good digitization strategy where all students can get the same opportunities. The second is to provide knowledge and skills to both students and teachers and non-teaching staff. And finally, maintaining and evolving with the technology so that it can adapt to the changes that occur.

Many schools or training centers have been lost in this digitization process. And the technology must not only be implemented, but must be based on a strategy that allows for its usefulness in the future.

Although many centers have electronic whiteboards, how many can communicate and collaborate online? How much does training agility guarantee? Although almost all centers already have internet, how many of them are using it properly? How many of them have a security solution to guarantee access to different profiles? And so the examples can be endless.

And having a digitization guide for the education sector is not easy. We therefore want to take the first step and help you select the criteria necessary to design or continue a strategy for digital education. Will you sign in?
