Automaker Subaru has suspended operations at three of its factories in Japan following the death of a worker at a factory in Gumma Prefecture.

This was reported by NHK, as reported by Ukrinform.

The company said the worker died as a result of an accident while performing his duties at the Yajima factory on February 13.

Subaru announced that it is suspending operations at its main factory and the Oizumi plant in Gummi, where engines and other parts are produced.

Company representatives stated that this was done out of respect for the deceased’s family members and other employees, as well as to ensure safety and prevent similar incidents from recurring.

The automaker said it has not yet decided when the specified factories will resume operation.

As reported by Ukrinform, at the beginning of the month, the Toyota automobile company in Japan continued to suspend production at four factories following information about falsification of engine certification test results at one of the group’s enterprises.
