According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the release of the second-generation version of Apple’s Vision Pro headset is at least 18 months away. According to him, the second generation Vision Pro headset will be released by the end of August 2025 at the latest. Gurman stated that Apple is paying close attention to the reasons why customers return the Vision Pro headset to stores. Ultimately, feedback from retail stores flows to company headquarters to help develop the next version of the device.
According to this information, Apple Vision Pro will not receive annual hardware updates, but new models such as iPhone or Apple Watch. Most likely, the update cycle of the new series will be longer, like the iPad.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and research firm Omdia previously mentioned the 2027 launch date of the second generation Vision Pro headset. If the information is confirmed, Apple Vision Pro may remain on the market for at least three more years before the release of the second generation.
Meanwhile, according to The Information and Bloomberg, Apple may launch a more affordable Vision headset around 2025.
