The developer NTDev, known for the lightweight versions of Windows, Tiny, showed how it’s done install Windows 10 in less than two minutes. Quite an achievement that shows the capabilities of a fully optimized operating system.

NTDev used Tiny10, and simplified version of the official release which includes only the main features without all the extras that Microsoft’s system is loaded with, many of them unnecessary for most users, plus all that comes from Bloatware and resource-hogging junk and adware.

However, the installer doesn’t sacrifice key compatibility components to allow the user to install the apps they need, or the security ones with Windows Defender installed. It also includes other maintenance tools such as remote desktop.

Let’s say that this lightweight version is specially designed for older computers with low resources, which in the case of the 32-bit version allows it to run on computers with only 1 GB of RAM and just over 5 GB of occupied space. Thanks to all this, the installation speed is maximum, in 104 seconds as you can see in the following video:

And if you want Windows 11, pay attention to the second version rewritten by NTDev, Tiny11, which Installation takes only three minutes.

This is extreme development, with minimal services and software that would work, but many of us would like Microsoft to take inspiration from them and deliver a system optimized to the maximum and not so overloaded with services and software that we do not use. The goal should be to offer a minimal foundation and offer the rest of the applications as an additional installation. Will it ever be possible?
