Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz today called on Brazilian President Luiz Inacio “Lula” da Silva: apologize to “millions of Jews around the world”for comparing the war in the Gaza Strip to Adolf Hitler’s actions during the Holocaust.
“Millions of Jews around the world are waiting for his apology. Do you dare compare Israel to Hitler?“Katz wrote X on his account after yesterday declaring Lula da Silva “persona non grata” in Israel for these words.

Katz summoned Brazil’s ambassador to Israel, Frederico Meier, on Sunday after Lula da Silva’s speech. accuse Israel of imitating Adolf Hitler committing “genocide” in the Palestinian enclave, where more than 29,000 Gazans died in 136 days of war.
The meeting took place yesterday at the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, after which Katz said that Brazil’s President becomes persona non grata; to which Brazil responded by also summoning the Israeli ambassador to Brasília and summoning its ambassador to Israel for consultations.

“Your comparison is erratic and delusional. Shame on Brazil and a spit in the face of Brazilian Jews,” the Israeli minister said today.
“It’s not too late to learn the story and ask for forgiveness. Until then, he remains an undesirable person in Israel!”
The Brazilian government called Israel’s reaction to Lula’s words is “absurd”who has already used the word “genocide” to describe Israeli offensives on other occasions.
