That in Redmond is eager to convince users to use Microsoft Edge It’s something that no one misses. This is of course more than understandable as the company has put a lot of effort into achieving user share growth, and while progress is slowly being made in this regard, it would still be many years away at the current rate. .. for many years before it reached a situation where it was able to compromise the absolute leadership that Google Chrome had long maintained in this market.
for this purpose Microsoft mainly uses two techniques that we can generally classify as “good” and “bad”. The good one is more than evident because it consists of enhance Microsoft Edge with amazing new features, streamline and secure… in short, offer a browser that stands out from its competition in some respects. In this regard, the adoption of Chromium meant a before and after, which led to its global evaluations being much more positive than before, both with regard to its initial versions (those used by EdgeHTML and Chakra) and especially those that Internet Explorer harvested during all the years of his life.
Bad news, I’m sure you know well too, because we report it more often than is desirable (which would actually be desirable if that frequency tended to never). Collect data from other browsers installed on the system, prevent their installation, require their use under certain circumstances… the list is quite extensive. And the truth is that it’s a shame because This behavior can “dirty” the image. an app that actually stands out positively on its own.
Fortunately, on this occasion we find an example of how to do things right, with a feature that many people (including me) will find particularly useful, which is that now Microsoft Edge for Windows lets you upload files to the web directly from your smartphone. This feature has been quietly launched and is now available to users with version 121.0.2277.128 (or later if it was released by the time you read this article).
This way, when you go to any web page where you can upload a file, a dialog box will appear that allows you to do this mThe “Upload from mobile” button will appear. and when you click on it, a QR code will appear that you will need to scan from your smartphone (or tablet) to establish a connection between the two devices. After scanning and if both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, a file explorer will appear on the smartphone. So you will only have to select the file you want to upload, confirm the operation from the PC and that’s it, you will only have to complete the upload from the PC, which is exactly what I just did with the image that you can see. below
Of course, as you can see, even in the good sometimes they throw in a bit of the bad, well You will only have unlimited recording with this system if you also use Edge on your smartphone. But hey, in this case we can consider it acceptable.
