Scientists predict that humans cannot stop global warming. After calculating the distant consequences of these planetary changes, they concluded that all five of Earth’s continents would eventually merge into a single supercontinent. A name has already been invented for this: Pangea Ultima.

As reported Natural GeologyThe new supercontinent will have extremely high atmospheric temperatures with parameters between +40 and +50 °C, with daytime peaks sometimes reaching +70 °C.

In addition, high humidity will make the situation difficult for all living things, and the amount of carbon dioxide in the air will increase, making a large part of the world unsuitable for life. This collapse will occur over 250 million years.

In such extreme environmental conditions, most mammals, including humans, are unlikely to survive. Hunger, thirst, constant overheating of the body – this combination of extremely unfavorable conditions will harm the adaptability of mammals.

Once Pangea Ultima is fully formed, only 8-16% of Earth’s land area could theoretically remain habitable. In these regions, a completely new ecosystem will be formed, inhabited by species that have managed to adapt to new changes on the planet.

Scientists do not rule out the possibility that these global changes could lead to the extinction of humanity. It’s possible that evolutionary changes helped humans become more resilient to extremely high temperatures. But Homo sapiens will certainly have to struggle to survive. Source
