No more long, unstructured blocks of text in WhatsApp. Four new text formatting options have been added to help users compose text messages more efficiently. From now on you can also format your text with bullet points, numbering, as a quote or Inline code. The latter is particularly interesting for developers. The new formatting options are available on WhatsApp for Android, iOS, Web and Mac.
More structure
You can now make long WhatsApp messages much clearer with four new text formatting options: Summary, Numbering, Quote and Inline code. These are added to the already existing list of formatting features, including bold, italic, or strikethrough. You can use the image below to find the correct characters to apply the formatting options in your message.

bullet points: Did your partner forget the shopping list? Send this clearly and bulleted using “-” + spaces.
numbering: Would you like to clearly display a sequence of steps? Then start numbering from “1”. followed by entering a space.
Quote: Do you want to block or highlight specific text? Then use the “>” symbol followed by a space.
Inline code: You can use the “`” symbol to highlight specific parts of text or instantly put them into a format convenient for developers.
