Google sued over hot Pixel 6 Pro

A class action lawsuit was filed against Google on behalf of Jennifer Hyatt in a California court. The company has been accused of continuing to sell Pixel 6 Pro smartphones despite knowing there was a flaw that caused the device to become too hot to hold.

According to Hyatt, the Pixel 6 Pro has been modified several times, and as a result, each of the smartphones was found to have a defect that caused overheating. The plaintiff alleges that Google knew about this defect even before sales of the device began, but still released the phone without warning consumers about the defect. The manufacturer must be obligated to notify manufacturers widely about the problem, recall the Pixel 6 Pro model, and return the money to buyers.

The lawsuit was filed in California, and Hyatt is seeking to represent all affected residents of the state. If the case moves forward, Google would be accused of violating the state’s Consumer Protection Act, false advertising and unfair competition laws, and the Song-Beverly Consumer Protection Act.

It is worth noting that making a declaration is only the first stage of considering a class action. Jennifer Hyatt still has to overcome many hurdles and there is a possibility that she may not even be able to get the document registered.
