Telephone calls have remained virtually unchanged since the time of Graham Bell: voice is transmitted and heard remotely; Other than that there is little else. Google has been sprinkling a bit of AI into searches for a while now, letting its Assistant answer them for you, but otherwise interaction during the call remained the same.

Now it looks like the future of calls is the future, at least if we’re using Google Phone. Application is being prepared Voice reactions with animations to be used during calls.

Voice responses on calls

You can react to messages with different emojis on WhatsApp and many other messaging apps, but the most you can do in a phone call is express yourself with words or sounds or hang up. Looks like Google is preparing a way for this React to phone calls in your phone app.

These reactions are similar to MSN Messenger’s winks; a sound and a little animation. And the reactions that Google has been preparing from the very beginning promise:
