China’s Lenovo on Monday unveiled a laptop prototype with a transparent screen, a technology that is in some ways similar to augmented reality.
CNBC reports this, according to Ukrinform.
It is stated that the laptop is equipped with a trackpad with a touch keyboard and a stylus for drawing and navigation.
A company representative performing for CNBC placed an artificial sunflower behind the screen.
Using artificial intelligence technology, the camera built into the laptop was able to identify the object as a sunflower and provide information about it.
According to the company representative, the laptop can be used in the construction site. For example, if an architect is designing an extension to a house, he can view the house on the screen and use a pencil to draw his design and see how it might look as a whole.
In some ways, the technology is similar to augmented reality, where digital content is overlaid on top of the real world that users see in front of them.
Since this laptop is still a concept, Lenovo has no plans to sell the device.
As reported by Ukrinform, the American company Dell presented a new series of three laptops: Dell XPS 13, XPS 14 and XPS 16.
