Fiat’s new future revealed today

FIAT CEO Olivier Francois has just revealed the next steps in building the brand’s product line.

All new models will use a common global platform, making them available to customers around the world.

FIAT will offer electric, hybrid and combustion engine powertrains to ensure maximum relevance for customers anywhere in the world.

The first car of this new family will be presented in July 2024, after which a new model will be released every year for the next three years.

In the ever-changing global mobility market, there are those who dream of a better future and those who are taking concrete steps towards a more sustainable and responsible future. FIAT showed that the future is here by unveiling a new family of concepts inspired by the Panda.

The first new product will be presented in July next year, after which a new car will be released every year until 2027. The new line of models is designed to conquer the streets around the world and complement the brand’s lineup. Thanks to Stellantis, FIAT has access to a new global platform on which it adds its distinctive brand of Italian creativity: a recipe that combines beauty and simple solutions.

The new global game was announced in a video in which Olivier François, CEO of FIAT and Global Marketing Director of Stellantis, introduces the cheerful Panda from the same Geneva, Italy: a model that has more than changed the way we perceive the car. Fourty years. This symbol of Italian creativity has inspired a new family of concepts.

Olivier Francois said: “FIAT is a global brand that sold 1.3 million vehicles last year and has a strong leadership position in many parts of the world. We are in a global game and our next step will be to move from local products to a global offering that can benefit all our customers, anywhere in the world. We are excited to share this vision of our future; actually a very near future, since the first car will be presented in 4 months during the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the brand. “Every year this car will be followed by a new model.”

The new cars will share the same philosophy – functionality should never exist without fun – and the same technology: a single global platform on which new models with local relevance can be produced. Wherever new models are created, they can be produced anywhere in the world and reach customers everywhere. The exclusive multi-energy platform will also allow future FIAT models to be equipped with all types of powertrains (electric, hybrid and internal combustion engines). In addition, the new family will be distinguished by its efficient use of space and the use of environmentally friendly materials. Each of the new models will be a unique and original interpretation of the inclusive, accessible and inventive spirit that has allowed the brand to create cars with modular interiors, unique looks and a strong personality.

FIAT is taking on the challenge of producing greener, more affordable cars using a ‘less is more’ approach, eliminating unnecessary parts and reducing polluting materials such as chrome, alloys, leather and seat foam; There is also a renewed focus on aerodynamic performance, as seen in the fastback concept, as well as the ‘modularity’ inherent in FIAT’s Italian ingenuity. The latter is favored by a transverse platform and the sharing of up to 80% of common parts depending on models, such as interiors, resulting in more efficient production and customer benefits such as affordability and distinctive character.

city car

The first prototype in the video is the new City Car. More than the current Panda, a kind of “Mega Panda”, its design is also inspired by the brand’s birthplace: the emblematic Lingotto building in Turin with its famous roof. test track. FIAT designers were inspired by several features of Lingotto to create a new design language: structural lightness, space optimization and brightness. In turn, the oval shape of the “La Pista 500” roof track has left its mark on several aspects of the new model’s interior: from the dashboard to the screen and seats.

In addition, FIAT places special emphasis on the use of environmentally friendly materials such as recycled plastic and bamboo fabrics. The brand is also aiming to remove some of the barriers to more sustainable mobility, such as making it easier to connect and disconnect using a “self-winding cable.” The high driving position and robust design make this city car the ideal ally for customers around the world, especially in densely populated urban environments. But at the same time, it offers space and versatility for family weekend trips and holidays.

Pick up

The pickup truck is the second concept shown in the video. FIAT is the market leader in South America, and the Strada pickup truck is the best-selling vehicle in the Brazilian market. Looking to the future, FIAT is confident that this type of vehicle will be able to repeat its success around the world, including in Europe. The new FIAT pickup truck concept truly combines functionality and responds to the global discovery of free time as a value for people. With this model, fun and practicality will spread throughout the world. This vehicle combines the concept of a pickup truck with the functionality of a light commercial vehicle and the comfort of an SUV, sized to suit urban environments around the world. Outdoor activities are more than just a hobby, and this truck is perfectly designed to make the most of your lifestyle.

Fastback

Heir to two of the brand’s greatest successes – the Fiat Fastback in Brazil and the Fiat Tipo in the Middle East and Africa – this fastback is set to follow in its footsteps and establish itself globally in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and even Europe. . This concept is built on the same modular platform and has a sporty look. The Fastback is proof that FIAT can improve its commitment to sustainability without sacrificing performance: the dynamism of the silhouette and truly aerodynamic performance provide lower fuel consumption and the plus of modernity and youth than many SUVs.

SUV

The fourth concept in the video is a spacious family SUV, a kind of “Giga Panda”. In keeping with FIAT’s role as a pioneer of affordable, innovative and sustainable mobility, this vehicle further demonstrates the brand’s special focus on the needs of family transportation.

The FIAT SUV concept meets the highest customer needs in terms of safety, versatility and design, providing space and reliability to families around the world.

Camper

The latest concept to be introduced is the perfect remedy for everything, representing a new dolce vita style and reconnecting people with each other and with nature. This concept pays tribute to the functionality of the Panda of the 80s, recalling the versatility of a car designed for the city, with the characteristics of an SUV and the soul of a loyal companion.
