New York prosecutors have asked a judge to block Donald Trump from attacking witnesses or revealing the identities of jurors in the former president’s criminal trial in Manhattan, court records released Monday showed.

The requests from Manhattan prosecutors noted Trump’s “long history of attacks on witnesses, investigators, prosecutors, judges and others involved in lawsuits against him.”

Trump is scheduled to go on trial in Manhattan state court on March 25 on charges of falsifying business records to conceal payments to a porn star before the 2016 election. he is expected to appear in court.

Trump has pleaded not guilty and said the case should be thrown out because it was brought for partisan purposes and because state laws do not apply to federal elections.

If approved, the gag order would prohibit Trump from “making or directing others to make” statements about witnesses related to his role in the case.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg also asked that Trump be barred from commenting on prosecutors in the case other than Bragg himself and court officials. (Reuters).
