At the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Google will announce a number of innovations with a focus on AI. The new smart features come to Android smartphones and smart wearables running Wear OS, the search giant’s operating system.
Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, will soon creep into the Messages app. This allows you to let the AI write messages or brainstorm with the assistant and complete other tasks within the app.
Docs also gets an AI injection that can convert handwritten notes into text or simply leave them handwritten.
Android Auto will soon be able to summarize long messages thanks to Gemini. The AI assistant can also combine several short messages into a chat group for you, so you can concentrate on the road. The new feature also suggests quick replies you can send with one tap, such as your expected arrival time.
Finally, Wear OS now has access to Google Wallet. This allows you to view useful documents such as boarding passes or concert tickets on your compatible smartwatch. Wear OS can now also help you navigate and show public transportation information in collaboration with Google Maps.
