SoftServe’s press service informed Ukrinform about this.
“The TIDE Hackathon is part of a series of events aimed at improving the interoperability of NATO members and their allies through the search for innovative solutions and approaches. Participants in this year’s hackathon competed in three competitions: Wargaming LLM, Pharmaceutical Thesaurus and Noisy Speech to Text. SoftServe teams won the first two,” he said. .
Notably, Team S Valkyrie-1 won the Pharmaceutical Thesaurus competition. Its task was to find a solution that would allow NATO allies to synchronize data from different systems into a single drug database, thus making it possible to quickly find generic drugs from different countries.
IT engineers have created a mobile application where you can find the required medicine by symptoms, name or ingredients among the available medicines of NATO allies. The app supports searching by photo, text or voice input, using artificial intelligence technologies for searching. This solution was considered the best of the challenge and the hackathon as a whole.
“We live in a war environment and for over two years we have focused on helping the country defeat the aggressor. Having real experience in conflict, we have managed to develop the optimal solution,” commented Taras Klyoba, Deputy Director of Big Data and Analytics at SoftServe.
Another challenge won by the Valkyrie-2 team was Wargaming LLM. By applying broad linguistic models, it was necessary to create a game application that NATO allies could use to train to conduct multi-domain operations in different dimensions (on land, in the air, in water, in cyberspace and more).
A total of 34 teams from 21 countries competed at the NATO TIDE Hackathon in Amsterdam, mostly representatives of government and defense structures. There were five teams from private companies, two of which were represented by SoftServe engineers.
Hackathon winners will present their solutions at the major NATO TIDE Sprint conference and large-scale Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise (CWIX) in Dresden in March.
The SoftServe team is participating in the NATO hackathon for the second year in a row. He also won one of the challenges last year.
