HONOR Pad 9 is a new tablet that the Chinese company presented at MWC 2024. A mid-range model that stands out for its chassis, screen and moderate price.

HONOR excels at the Barcelona trade show with new product launches, including its new top-of-the-line Magic6 Pro smartphone or the top-of-the-line MagicBook Pro 16 notebook. It has also updated its tablet catalog with the international launch of a new model that improves on previous versions while maintaining a low price.

The screen is the star part of the HONOR Pad 9. It is a 12.1 inch IPS multi-touch with a native resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:10. It supports finger or stylus use, has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Its screen to chassis ratio is 85%.

Speaking of the chassis, let’s just say that both the frame and rear end are made from aluminium, a premium material that provides both durability and visual appeal. Its dimensions speak of lightness and thinness, 278.2 x 180.1 x 7 mm and a total weight of 555 grams is not bad considering that the Li-Po battery has a capacity of 8300 mAh with fast charging via a 35 watt cable.

Inside we see the mobile chipset Qualcomm SM6450 (Snapdragon 6 Gen 1) manufactured in 4nm, with an octa-core CPU (4 x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 and 4 x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) and an Adreno GPU. The base configuration is sold with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, although it can be up to 12GB + 512GB.

It has a dual camera setup, a 13MP rear camera (f/2.0, AF and LED flash) and an 8MP yf/2.2 front camera for selfies. Its audio system is powered by eight speakers and is compatible with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. The charging and data port is USB Type-C.

The HONOR Pad 9 is now available on the international channel in a variety of colors and pre-installed with the Magic OS 7.2 (Android 13) user interface. Its official price in Spain is 399 euros, but as part of the introductory event and until March 10, a coupon can be applied to reduce its price to 299 euros.
