Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against the company that maintains the portal pornhub.

The prosecutor claims that the signature Ailo Global Entertainment violated HB 1181, a Texas law that requires reasonable age verification measures to protect minors from exposure to obscene materials.

Ailo Global operates several of the largest porn sites hosting pornographic materials, including Pornhub.

Instead of complying with a Texas law requiring providers of sexually explicit material to implement age verification systems, the company immediately presented pornographic content to minors who accessed its sites, prosecutors said.

The prosecutor sought an injunction against Aylo Global, requiring adequate age verification guarantees and potentially millions of dollars in civil penalties for failure to comply with the law.

Companies that violate age verification requirements will be subject to fines of up to $10,000 per day and up to $250,000 if a child is exposed to pornographic content because the user’s age is not properly verified, according to the law.

“Texas has the right to protect its children from the harmful effects of pornographic content,” said Attorney General Paxton.
