Battlefield 7 will be the next installment in Electronic Arts’ famous war franchise, a saga that has seen better days and needs an important update to recover from the failure that marked DICE’s Battlefield 2042. I was able to try this game and I completely agree was not up to parneither on a technical nor optimization level, nor on a content level.

Reliable sources assure that Battlefield 7 will arrive October 2025and that this title will be an attempt return the franchise to its roots. To achieve this, DICE must meet four main keys:

  • The return of the story mode that attracts the most classic players.
  • The return of the four-class system.
  • Multiplayer games for up to 64 players.
  • Improvements to the scene destruction system.

Battlefield 7’s setting will likely focus on the near future between 2025 and 2030, which means we can expect the introduction of current weapons combined with slightly more advanced weapons typical of the near future. Regarding the story mode, his argument will be focused on the weight of the use of technology in war.

Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 7 will have a free version

And it will be a “Battle Royale” that will directly compete with Call of Duty Warzone. Its development will be done by Ripple Effect and will offer two completely different game modes, the classic “Battle Royale” and another known as “Gauntlet”in which teams of players will compete to complete various objectives and use a scoring system to decide who is the winner.

It’s only natural that EA wants to take the Battlefield franchise into the “free to play” sector; after all, this market represents a fantastic opportunity to expand the universe of the said saga, and it is totally wasted. We still don’t know what platforms Battlefield 7 will come to or what the requirements will be, but given the release date, it would make the most sense for it to be eExclusive to current generation consoles and PC.

If this exclusivity is confirmed, its requirements will match those of a triple-A game without support on an old generation of consoles, which means that we will need at least one to run it in optimal conditions CPU with six cores and twelve threads which has good IPC, 16 GB RAM, SSD and graphics card GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 6600.
