Messenger WhatsApp has launched the “search by date” feature for private and group chats on Android devices.
This was reported by Tech Crunch, Ukrinform reported.
Mark Zuckerberg shared the news on his WhatsApp channel by adding a video of himself searching for an old karaoke conversation.
It notes that users can only search for chats from a specific date, rather than specifying a date range. To use this feature, you need to go to the details of the private or group chat by clicking on the person or group name. To search by date, click the search button and then click the calendar icon.
Users can already search conversations by media type, such as links, media, and documents.
This feature was already available on iOS, Mac computers and the WhatsApp Web platform.
Last week, WhatsApp announced support for new text formatting options such as bulleted lists, numbered lists, block quotes, and embedded code for individual and group chats and channels.
As reported by Ukrinform, WhatsApp is testing a new feature on its instant messaging platform for Android that will allow users to share files with people nearby without having to enter a phone number.
