Apple today added the M3-chip iMac to its Certified Refurbished Store in the US for the first time since the computer was introduced in October. As is always the case with Apple’s refurbished products, refurbished iMacs are discounted by about 15% compared to equivalent brand new models, which start at $1,099. Various configurations and color options are available.
All the usual accessories are included in the box, including the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, power adapter and cable, and USB-C to Lightning cable.
Apple says the refurbished Macs have undergone “full functional testing” and an “extensive cleaning and inspection process” and are covered by Apple’s one-year limited warranty and extended AppleCare+ coverage.
In our opinion, Apple’s refurbished Macs are virtually indistinguishable from new and present a great opportunity to save money directly from Apple. However, sometimes higher discounts can be provided by sellers such as Amazon. Apple recently started selling refurbished MacBook Pro models with the M3 chip, as well as later models with the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
