Microsoft has added a useful feature to Windows for iPhone users. As The Verge reported, Windows 11 introduced the ability to use a smartphone as a webcam. As a reminder, Apple has expanded the Continuity Camera feature, allowing iPhone cameras to replace Mac webcams in 2022. This function allows you to get higher image clarity during video calls.
Windows 11 will require an Android phone running Android 9 or later: “The Phone Link system in Windows 11 will now include the ability to access recent photos or use your phone as a webcam in video conferencing apps.
Starting today, the feature will be available in Windows Insider testing on devices running Android 9 or later and Link to Windows version 1.24012 or later. To turn it on, go to the Bluetooth and mobile settings menu, select “Device management” and allow the computer to access the Android phone.
The feature also supports Android tablets and includes a few extra tweaks, like the ability to switch between front and rear cameras.
