Xiaomi removed updates that turned smartphones into “bricks”

According to the news on the Telegram channel of the Uzbekistan department, Xiaomi removed the system component update that caused problems in Poco, Redmi and Xiaomi branded devices from online sources. The manufacturer advised customers not to try to fix the problem on their own as it could lead to loss of user data.

The company acknowledged that the component caused repeated reboots on a small number of devices. Russian support also stated that the problem was not widespread. “This update has been removed from online sources,” Xiaomi said.

We are trying to find a way to restore device functionality as quickly as possible for those encountering a similar issue. We ask anyone affected to contact the support team in their local area. Please do not try to restore the device without contacting authorized service centers or support, as this is not the case. This may result in loss of data that is not backed up. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

It was previously reported that Xiaomi, Poco and Redmi smartphone users faced cyclical reboots of the operating system known as Bootloop after the update. According to the latest information, the MIUI 14 and HyperOS update includes an updated quick access screen and this is why the crash occurs. Xiaomi said they were working to resolve the situation.
