The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the 2024 EA asteroid will pass close to Earth on Monday, March 4.
This was reported by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Ukrinform reports.
According to NASA, the length of the celestial body approaching our planet for the first time is 131 meters.
The distance from it to the Earth will be 5.3 million kilometers. The speed of the asteroid is 45,180 km/h.
If an asteroid approaches Earth at a distance of less than 7.4 million km and its size exceeds 150 m, NASA considers it a “potentially hazardous object.”
Asteroid 2024 EA does not fall under two parameters at the same time.
