The crew of the Chinese manned spacecraft Shenzhou-17, aboard the Chinese space station Tiangong, completed its second spacewalk on Saturday.

As reported by Ukrinform, CGTN reports on this issue.

According to the China Manned Space Agency, Tang Hongbo, Tang Shenji and Jiang Xinlin cooperated with the team on Earth to complete all planned missions and returned to the space station after 8 hours of extravehicular activity.

This time, taikonauts completed repair work in the open field on the solar cells of the space station’s main module, eliminating the minor impact caused by the impact of small particles in space.

The operation of solar panels was considered normalized.

This marks the first time taikonauts have performed equipment maintenance tasks outside of an orbiting spacecraft.

During the extravehicular activity, the astronauts also inspected the condition of the space station cabin.

China launched the Shenzhou-17 manned spacecraft from a spaceport in northwestern China on October 25, 2023.

The mission is planned to last six months.

As Ukrinform reported, in December, three Chinese astronauts on the Shenzhou-17 mission spent several hours carrying out repair work in space.
