Apple announced new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air models with the M3 chip, improved external display support, Wi-Fi 6E and more.
Apple says the new “MacBook Air” is 60% faster than the M1 model and up to 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-based “MacBook Air.” Thanks to the faster and more efficient Neural Engine, Apple says the “MacBook Air” remains the “best consumer laptop for AI.” It also features an AV1 decoding engine to deliver more efficient and better video quality from streaming services.
In addition to the M3 chip, the new “MacBook Air” offers Wi-Fi 6E, noise isolation and wide-range microphone modes, improved voice clarity during voice and video calls, and a more fingerprint-resistant coating with a Midnight color option. It also now supports up to two external displays with the laptop lid closed, compared to the single external display on Apple’s previous silicon models.
Pre-orders for the new “MacBook Air” start today and orders will reach customers on Friday, March 8. It is on sale with prices starting from $1,099 in Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray and Silver color options.
