Nintendo she accomplished her goal to end the Yuzu emulator, one of the best options that existed for playing Nintendo Switch titles on PC. We already told you about this a few days ago when we told you that the big N sued the people responsible for the emulator and I told you that things don’t look good at all because they made important mistakes that directly linked them to actions that can be considered for piracy.

In the end, those responsible for the Yuzu emulator made a deal with Nintendo to avoid a greater evil. This deal considers two main points, the first is to download the emulator and the official website dedicated to it. It can no longer be downloaded, although I’m sure it will continue to be shared around the internet as there was a period between the lawsuit being announced and it being pulled that many took advantage of to pull it before it could disappear.

The second point involves compensation in favor of Nintendo $2.4 million damage, that those responsible for Yuzu will pay. It probably won’t surprise you that they came to this deal, after all Nintendo wanted Yuzu gone as soon as possible and the owners of this project knew they were in trouble and wanted to minimize the impact of the lawsuit filed by Nintendo.

In an official statement, Yuzu developers said that they got carried away by their passion for Nintendo and that this emulator was born as a project of good faith, but they realized that their projects can overcome the protection measures that the big N uses in their games, and therefore understand that they have brought what can be broadly considered piracy. They also stated that they were disappointed by the behavior of some users, namely They cannot continue to promote piracy.

The issue of emulators has been controversial since the very beginning, and the truth is that they have always remained in quite a complicated situation because of the doubts it raises and the lack of specialized regulation on them. As I said at the time, the emulator itself isn’t illegal, the piracy required to port games on it is, and that’s the point Nintendo usually uses to increase these requirements.
