Microsoft has always built Windows 11 as a top-of-the-line operating system that’s essential for getting the most out of the latest hardware. He also outlined the plan and emphasized improvements that were being implemented in the said operating system to make a significant difference compared to the previous generation.

One of the most important improvements in this sense came with the arrival of Intel Alder Lake processors, based on the chip giant’s then-new hybrid architecture, which it uses two different blocks of cores, one with high performance and the other with high efficiency. Windows 11 received major improvements to optimize the work of the Intel Thread Director task scheduler.

It was expected that this optimization would make a significant difference in performance in favor of Windows 11 and that it would also be ported to Windows 10 later, but the reality was completely different. The Windows kernel has let us in on an important secret, and that is that it actually is All versions of Windows 10 starting with build 21301 and Windows 11 have already been properly optimized to work with Intel Thread Director.

This means that we will only see a significant performance improvement when upgrading from the previous version to Windows 10 build 21301, although it is unlikely that anyone will stick with this build because it is very old (it launched in early 2021, so it’s already three years old, and that means the world when we’re talking about Windows).

Windows 11 vs Windows 10: Performance differences are minimal

And this is evident in many tests using different configurations. In most cases, both operating systems they offer almost the same level of performanceand when there are differences between them, they are usually minimal. Windows 11 has the advantage of being a more up-to-date operating system that will get a higher level of support and has some exclusive features like auto HDR, but it can’t be said to be faster than Windows 10.

It is also important to note that Windows 11 has higher requirements than Windows 10, so much so that it leaves out a large number of configurations that are still perfectly capable today and that offer good performance in games as well. He has too higher consumption of resources, and this ultimately makes it a more demanding operating system that will actually work harder with more modest computers.
