When Microsoft released Windows 11, one of the main features of the system was Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA), a technology that allows you to run Android applications on Windows devices (with installations via the Amazon Appstore). However, Microsoft has now decided to abandon this technology “in order to meet the needs of users.”
Support for running Android apps on Windows 11 will end on March 5, 2025: starting from this date, users will no longer be able to install new Android apps from the Amazon Appstore.
In response, Amazon announced that its app marketplace will no longer be available on the Microsoft Store starting today. Additionally, developers will no longer be able to submit new applications to the Amazon Appstore for Windows, but those who already have applications in the relevant market will be able to continue publishing updates until March 5, 2025.
