Isaca introduces the Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework

Following previous beta testing, Isaca is launching its Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework. This provides organizations with tools to implement technology sustainably.

Isaca brings it to market Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework (DTEF). This is a comprehensive framework that provides guidance for organizations that want to use technology reliably and sustainably.

The framework is based on the relationship between people, processes, technology and the organization. Rolf Von Roessing, a member of the Digital Trust Working Group and lead developer of the framework, previously gave ITdaily a demo of the DTEF. It shows the connections between the points that you can click through the framework. BetweenPeopleAndorganizationFor example, you can find the company culture. As you continue to click on them in the framework, you will discover very specific points to think about and based on which you can create guidelines.

The DTEF is a very extensive set of instruments that, according to Von Roessing, goes far beyond legislation. This is of course taken into account: it is compatible with standards and regulations such as the GDPR, NIST, ISO and more. In addition, the entire framework was developed with new technologies in mind. An unforeseen innovation tomorrow will not immediately make it obsolete.

Tangible benefits

The DTEF is flanked by a portfolio of resources. This is intended to help organizations understand and then apply best practices. Integrity, security, data protection, resilience, quality, reliability and trust are always the focus. Isaca himself sees five ways the framework can help organizations:

  • Reducing costs through reduced risk of fines and costly cyberattacks, but also a higher return on digital investments.
  • More effective use of new technologies in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Greater customer trust through transparency and clear communication.
  • Greater operational efficiency, including through faster response to unforeseen events, better collaboration and anticipation of trends.
  • More trust from the board
  • More trust from the board, who can use KPIs to see that trust principles have been implemented.

Isaca publishes an interactive guide to help interested organizations familiarize themselves with the framework and use it efficiently. The guide is visual, includes examples, and even includes a 3D modeled component. An implementation guide and a short introductory lesson are also available. Isaca plans to launch a Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework Foundation course and a Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework Foundation certificate later this year.
