Between violence, political crisis and years of drought, some 5.5 million Haitians (about half the population) are in need of external humanitarian assistance.

UN calls for funding $674 million this year, barely enough money was raised to help Haiti, America’s poorest country. 2.5% of the total amount.

According to the UN, the number of murders more than doubled in 2023, with almost 5000 people were killed, including 2,700 civilians.
