The series adaptation of the post-apocalyptic world designed by Bethesda in the Fallout saga is without a doubt one of the most anticipated novelties of this year. It’s been more than three and a half years since we first learned about this ambitious Prime Video project, and while the ecosystem of streaming movies and series has changed significantly during that time (undoubtedly for the worse), the good news is that the Prime Video project it kept it instead of scrapping it like we’ve seen in other projects on the platforms.
It was this relatively discrete production process, with some advancements like images that were shown last July, as well as leaks like a trailer that happened in September 2023 and was officially released three months later. Since then, of course, we have been waiting for new developments, and now we finally find one that also raises the bar with respect to the one already set by the teaser-trailer from December of last year.
As we told you back then, the small screen adaptation of Fallout is signed Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. brother and sister-in-law of Christopher Nolan, credited with good work with some of his previous productions such as Westworld and Reminiscence, along with Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner as showrunners. In the explanatory section we find names as relevant as Kyle MacLachlan, Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell.
Along with the trailer came the other piece of information we were expecting, and this is it Prime Video will premiere Fallout on April 11, in just over a month. This is a day earlier than originally planned, and there’s also good news for marathon lovers in that all eight episodes of Fallout will be released on opening day, meaning we won’t have to wait weeks for this first season to finish. (no word yet on whether there are plans for a second season, of course).
As for her plot, the series file on the service defines it as “the story of the haves and the have-nots in a world where there is hardly anything left to own» and places it temporally 200 years after the events that gave rise to this post-apocalyptic world, a moment in which until then the inhabitants of comfortable nuclear shelters They will have to leave the comfort of the same face the outside world «incredibly complex, hilariously weird and extremely violent«.
It is clear that like any production of this type based on a game or franchise, the creators have taken license to create a series that adapts to the audiovisual context. However, from what we have seen so far, It seems that we are facing a real adaptationand not interested in using the relevant name on a product that has little or nothing to do with the original.
