Firefly is coming to Adobe Express for Android and iOS

They fulfilled last December two years since the arrival of Adobe Express, although initially its full name was Creative Cloud Express. Since then, we’ve seen Adobe add content and features to this online service, which is free in its basic version for all users. In addition, for users with more advanced needs, a premium mode is available, which significantly expands the already complete list of features of the free version.

Except, more than a year ago, Adobe introduced Firefly, a huge evolutionary leap in the use of artificial intelligence. And yes, I’m talking about a jump, because although the creators of Photoshop are not always present in conversations about AI, the truth is that Adobe is a particularly experienced company in this sense. Adobe VoCo, InBetween, black and white color switching and Liquid Mode are just some of the company’s huge number of advances in this regard.

Since the arrival of Firefly, Adobe Express has generative features based on a model created by the company, both in the free plan and in its paid version (although the latter, of course, allows its greater use), although access to them was exclusive through the web interface of the service, which can be accessed from this link. This is about to change, however, and it’s a move that many of its users are highly anticipating.

So the good news for all these users is that Adobe has announced a new Adobe Express app for Android and iOS that includes Firefly features. Initially available in beta (we still don’t know when it will go to the final version), these are the new features (not just the AI-based ones) that have been added to the app, according to Adobe itself:

  • Text to image– Quickly create a new project look by instantly generating stunning new images with Firefly’s generative AI.
  • Generative fill– Insert, remove or replace people, objects and more with simple text prompts.
  • Text effects– Create engaging headlines, copy and messages using generative artificial intelligence.
  • Video– Start with unique templates, instantly combine video clips, images and music, add animations and generate real-time subtitles in over 100 languages. A video timeline, layer sync, and 4K video support make it easy to create social media videos from anywhere.
  • Extending content and templates– Get access to thousands of amazing video and multipage templates, over 25,000 Adobe fonts, and hundreds of thousands of videos, music, and images and designs from Adobe Stock.
  • Quick actions– Edit photos and videos, remove background and resize images with one click.
  • Content programmer– Plan, preview, schedule and post to social media channels like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and more quickly and easily.
  • Branded kits– Upload and share branded content and easily use branded fonts, colors and logos in any design to speed up branded content creation.
  • Cooperation– Real-time collaborative editing and seamless review and comment features simplify the creation process.

This is undoubtedly a very smart move on the company’s part, and it’s been a long time since many users started use the smartphone as the main tool for content creation. In this way, Adobe Express brings many particularly useful tools to this medium without forcing the user to design a workflow that requires the use of both a smartphone and a computer.
