From now on, talk about Series 7, 5 or 3: HP creates order in the monitor chaos

To provide a better overview of its monitor range, HP is now introducing a new naming convention. The HP Series 7 Pro launches with eleven new models.

HP has listened to its marketing department and is now using clear names that let users immediately identify which category they are shopping in. The PC manufacturer now divides its monitors into “series”, followed by the number 3, 5 or 7. The higher the number, the higher quality the range is.

The Series 7 Pro monitor range debuts at HP Amplify in Las Vegas with no fewer than eleven models. These monitors replace the professional Z monitors. Additional change: Z disappears from the rear monitors. The HP logo takes its place.

All supported monitors within the Series 7 Pro series are factory calibrated and can be used by creative professionals, among others. HP speaks of DreamColor class screens. Each model uses IPS Black panels.

The eleven models include four screen sizes: 27 inches (16:9), 34 inches, 38 inches and 40 inches (all three 21:9 ultrawide).

Three models (HP 727pm, 734pm and 740pm) have an AI webcam on board that takes processing power away from your laptop or desktop. There’s some processing power in the monitor itself that takes care of things like HDR, autoframing and background blur.

The new monitors are available in the US starting today. HP has not yet announced prices. Euro prices and local availability are not yet known. Later this year, the rest of the monitor lineup will be updated to reflect the new naming convention.
