Ukrainian company Kvertus Technology produces rifles that “shoot” unmanned aerial vehicles. 10 employees of the company can collect up to 5 weapons per day.

A test sample of the rifle was developed by the company in 2017. It was a two-barreled tool, weighing 18 kg, and the wearer had a battery-powered backpack behind his shoulders.

An anti-drone rifle is a device that creates radio interference. It has a communication interference generator. Directional antennas direct the signal in the right direction. They turn off the frequencies at which 99% of commercial and tactical drones operate.

The target is tactical level unmanned aerial vehicles. These are mostly helicopters used for setting fire and gathering intelligence. For example, DJI drones. There may also be drones carrying explosives.

Once within weapon range, the drone loses contact with the satellite or remote control. It loses the picture – can’t take pictures/videos.

The anti-drone rifle weighs 5 kg. It was all in one building without backpacks and necklaces. Range – 3.5 km in open field.

“In many respects, the Ukrainian rifle is better than its world counterparts. And the price is twice as good, ”says Yaroslav Filimonov.

The antidrone rifle is a weapon for trench warfare. Drones are used on the collision line to gather local information. The enemy also uses drones as suspensions to drop grenades. That is why the Ukrainian army is in great need of this type of rifle.

“Such a device should be in every infantry safe. Every 500 meters along the front line so that the fighter does not exceed a kilometer to destroy the drone,” he said.

Now the company can produce 5 rifles per day, two per week. Plans are 10 per day.

The company also has a plan to create a more powerful anti-drone rifle with a range of 20-30 km. It can be transported by pickup or jeep. Visually, the drone can be seen from a maximum distance of 700 m. Therefore, this radio weapon will also need to find a strong direction.
