Colombian authorities registered 630 femicides in 2023which is equivalent to almost two crimes of this type every day in the country, the Peace and Reconciliation Foundation (Pares) reported this Friday in “Living Without Fear, Gender-Based Violence Report 2022-2023.”
This organization, which collects data from the Oral Criminal Indictment System of the Colombian Prosecutor’s Office, stated that: “As for 2022 there were no significant differences in casesWell, the decline was only 0.47%.”
“That is, from 2022 to 2023, in total there was 1263 cases of femicide throughout the country, a figure that shows prevalence and severity of execution of this crime in Colombia,” the information added.

The document also states that 59.39% of the victims were adult women aged 27 to 59 years, followed by the 18 to 26 year old range with 25.75%.

Bogota was the place where the most femicides occurred.with 149 cases, equivalent to an increase of 31.8% compared to 2022. They are followed by the departments of Valle del Cauca (82) and Antioquia (73).
