Formatting the text of messages on WhatsApp is as simple as, depending on the application and platform in use (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, Web), selecting the word or phrase you want to tag and using the menu, applications include: for mobile phones, the most unpleasant medium in this sense, click select to continue and there you have it.

How to format text in WhatsApp

To italicize text, place an underscore before and after the text:

To make text bold, place an asterisk before and after the text:

Strike through

To enter strikethrough text, place a tilde before and after the text:

To type text in monospace, place three simple back ticks before and after the text:
“text””.
Bulleted list

To add a bulleted list to your message, place an asterisk or a dash and a space before each word or sentence:

Numbered list

To add a numbered list to your message, put a number, a period, and a space before each line of text:
1. text
2. text
Appointment

To add a quote to your message, place an angle bracket and a space before the text:
> text
Aligned code

To add aligned code to a message, put a serious accent on both sides of the message:
“text”.
