Tokyo-based startup Space One will launch its Kairos launch vehicle next week to launch a small government satellite into orbit.
reported NHK informs Ukrinform.
Originally, the launch was planned for Saturday, March 9. However, it was postponed for security reasons after a ship was detected in the “marine warning zone” established in the waters near the launch site of Kushimoto city in Wakayama Prefecture in western Japan.
The company claims that there were no problems with either the rocket or the launch pad.
The new launch date was set for March 13 or later to avoid conflicting with Japanese astronaut Furukawa Satoshi’s return to Earth after completing his mission aboard the International Space Station.
The height of the Kairos rocket is 18 meters, its width is slightly less than 1.5 meters, and its mass is 23 thousand kg. It takes its name from Kairos, the ancient Greek god of time, moment of change and luck. The rocket has the capacity to launch a weight of 250 kilograms into low Earth orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers.
As reported by Ukrinform, China on February 29 It sent the first satellite of a new high-orbit Internet series into space.
