Ransomware is a technique commonly used by hackers in which files on your PC are encrypted by attackers, who then demand a ransom in return for your files. However, not all companies have such a strong security or backup system. Windows has built-in protection against ransomware. The following steps will show you how to install this as it is not enabled by default in Microsoft Defender.
Open the Windows Security app on your PC. Navigate to ‘Institutions‘ and click ‘privacy And bSecurity‘. Then open the tab “virus– and BThreat Security‘.
Below the menu Virus and threat protection You will find a link to “protection against Ransomware‘. Then activate ‘Controlled Access to the brochure‘ so that App access to standard folders such as OneDrive, Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music and Favorites on your PC will be restricted. You also have the option to manually add folders to the list.
